4 Dishonest Sales Strategies Used By Some Window & Door Companies

One of the most difficult aspects of buying new windows and doors is trying to find a company you can totally trust.

Double Glazing

We’ve all heard or read about horror stories involving installers in our industry, and you don’t want to be the next victim of mis-selling and poor service.

None of that goes on at Balhousie! We treat our customers with respect and always deal with them honestly, only ever using ethical sales tactics.

When you come across a company that employs the following sales strategies, you’d do well to avoid them at all costs!

Price conditioning

Until you start getting some quotes, you probably won’t know what new windows and doors are likely to cost.

A salesperson may try to capitalise on that, employing a technique called price conditioning, which involves giving you a quote that they insist beats their competitors, but more likely doesn’t in reality.

Fake discounts

At the very least, you should get three quotes from three different companies so that you can compare prices.

To stop you doing that, a salesperson might offer what seems an incredible discount and tell you that you have to immediately accept it, otherwise it will no longer apply.

This, ultimately, fake discount won’t be anything amazing, it’s just a way of stopping you from going elsewhere.

Big price drop

Knowing that you have no idea of the cost of new windows and doors, a salesperson could confuse you by offering you a very inflated price.

It’s done to see what your reaction is. They will hope it sparks alarm, so that when their next move is to vastly reduce the original price quoted, you will believe you’re getting an unbelievable deal.

Overcharging

If you get quizzed by a salesperson and asked “how much are you looking to pay?”, it might be their way of deciding what to quote you.

You will have a better idea of how to respond to the question when you do what we suggested earlier and obtain at least three quotes.

Very straight selling with no tricks employed is what you can anticipate when you deal with Balhousie. Let’s begin by giving you a FREE quote, and then take things from there.
