There is only so long that you can put up with feeling tight for space indoors before you either have to consider moving or extending your house. This householder opted for the latter option and to accommodate their request, we had to construct a more compact version of a conventional Edwardian design. It still has the usual trademark rectangular base made from bricks that match the style of the bricks used to build the house and the inside of the conservatory is surprisingly roomy. The elegant cresting and perimeter ceiling added that extra touch of class.
The extent of floor space has allowed for the inclusion of a couple of armchairs with lots of available legroom. It helps that the structure is lofty as the headspace makes a massive contribution to the overwhelming feeling of roominess, and speaking of the roof, it provides fantastic insulation. When exposed to strong heat from the sun, the top opening windows and French doors can be opened in tandem to let fresh air circulate its way around the extension. A double opening of the French doors also gives the occupants instant access to their patio and garden setting, something that has been taken full advantage of since we completed the installation.
