How To Create An Insta-Worthy Front Door

You are missing a trick if your front door looks quite plain and boring. It needs to stand out, for the right reasons, because then there’s more chance of your home impressing people.

If you get it looking super-stylish, it will also make for a great Instagram post.

Just enter in the hashtags #frontdoor and #frontdoors on Instagram and you will see some fabulous front doors that their owners have really gone to the effort of dressing up and decorating.

Your front door can be just as Insta-worthy, if you know how to nail its look.

We can advise you on that:

Coloured finish

It will be the colour of your door that others notice most, so think about the finish carefully when repainting an existing front door or investing in a brand-new door.

Nobody could be turned off by a classic grey, black or white-coloured door, if you want a proven favoured finish, but there are also lots of fans of Chartwell Green, aubergine and Duck Egg Blue doors, amongst many other options.

It’s best to select a finish that’s in keeping with the style, age and character of the building.

Door wreath

Many of the top-rated front doors on Instagram have a door wreath on them, which goes to show that a door wreath isn’t just a Christmas thing.

If you’re into crafting, why not attempt to make your own wreath? You can always find out how to do it online. Too busy for that? Just go out and buy a premade wreath, real or fake – whatever tickles your fancy.

Almost every summer wreath has one or more of the following colours in it – orange, pink and red.

Once you have your door wreath ready and hung up on the door, another way you can dress the area around the door is to install some planters.

Lots of Instagrammers choose to have twin potted bay trees at each side of their front door and it does look sophisticated and smart.

Depending on what kind of planter you opt for, it may need regular watering, so make sure you don’t forget to do it, otherwise it will struggle to survive.
