Heritage Windows

Fans of the traditional sash window will be captivated by our Heritage window range

To be able to upgrade the windows at a property within a conservation area or at a listed building, strict guidelines must be abided by and only a select few window systems meet them, including our Heritage windows. Modelled on the traditional sash window, a Heritage window has many of the same trademarks and can be supplied with 28mm double glazing or 44mm triple glazing. Unlike an original sash window, Heritage windows are manufactured from UPVC rather than timber, though you would swear that it has a timber frame. As well as installing them around your home, you can also incorporate Heritage frames into various forms of home extension.

It’s useful to have a checklist you can refer to when buying new windows...

Aesthetics – Any replacement windows must be in keeping with the character of your house – for instance, certain window styles will better complement a traditional residence than a modern household. You don’t want something too different from what you currently have.

Thermal Efficiency – Unless your windows have impressive thermal qualities, you can anticipate your energy bills being more costly than they should be. When window shopping, take notice of the window energy rating of each individual design as this highlights how energy efficient the window is - the higher the energy rating, the better.

Motivation – What is your reasoning for replacing your existing windows? Are you fed up of the cold getting in or do your windows simply not look as pretty as they used to be? Tell us what the motivations are behind your decision.

Finishing Touches – It’s not just the window style you need to think about. A replacement window also needs furnishing with some appropriate hardware i.e. handles, hinges. The glazing also needs to be suitable for your intended purposes.
